What a 5-panel drug test screens for
The standard 5-panel is the SAMHSA-5 — the same five substance groups federal workplace programs have used for decades. It's designed to catch the most commonly misused drugs while keeping the price low:
- Marijuana (THC) — the metabolite THC-COOH
- Cocaine — detected as benzoylecgonine
- Amphetamines — including methamphetamine and MDMA
- Opiates — codeine, morphine and heroin markers
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
Most 5-panels are collected as a urine sample, which is the format employers and most programs expect. If you need a wider net — prescription medications, benzodiazepines, methadone, fentanyl — step up to our 10-panel test or an expanded panel.
Who needs a 5-panel test
- Job seekers — it's the panel most employers request for a new hire
- Employers — the cost-effective standard for pre-employment and random programs
- Staffing & temp agencies — fast turnaround so placements don't stall
- Individuals — anyone who just needs a clean, documented standard screen
Rapid result or lab-confirmed — your call
A rapid 5-panel gives a preliminary negative during your visit, which is often all an employer needs to clear a start date. When a result needs to hold up — a non-negative screen, a safety-sensitive role, or anything that could be disputed — we send the specimen to a SAMHSA-certified lab for confirmation and MRO review, typically back in 24–72 hours. We'll tell you up front which makes sense for your situation.
Honest, posted pricing
Our 5-panel starts around $30 for a rapid screen, with lab-confirmed pricing quoted before you come in. No surprise add-ons, and we'll always tell you the exact price when you book.
